A welcoming, professional family based in Chelsea are searching for a gentle and experienced maternity nurse to join them in caring for their new addition due February 2024.
A welcoming, professional family based in Chelsea are searching for a gentle and experienced maternity nurse to join them in caring for their new addition due February 2024.
The family have 3 older children, the youngest of which is 7 years old.
The family would like their maternity nurse to join them for at least 3 months extending up to 1 year as a maternity nanny to cover baby's sleep leaps and changing needs during the all important first year.
A working pattern of 24/5 or 24/6 is available to the successful candidate. The option to switch work 12 hour days when baby at least 3 months old is also possible.
A warm, loving and friendly maternity nurse would suit this family. Mum practised responsive parenting with her older child and the maternity nurse should have a good idea of "gentler" approaches to sleep training and development and be a responsive care giver herself.
All the usual maternity nurse duties apply such as taking care of baby’s daily needs, organising baby’s nursery, assisting with baby’s care over night, supporting mum with breastfeeding and assisting with sterilizing bottles when pumping is introduced. The family are keen on a Montessori approach and appreciative of a personality who knows when to step back and can work in collaboration with parents.
The successful candidate should also be holistic in their approach, supporting mum and the family along with baby in little tasks such as occasionally making a family meal to ensure mum eats well.
A candidate who is experienced with breastfeeding is appreciated as mum would like her maternity nurse to assist her with attending to baby overnight and work with her to support her breastfeeding goals particularly in the beginning when baby may need to be brought to mum to feed overnight to encourage milk supply. When baby is ready for a bottle the successful candidate will assist with introducing this, know how to serve baby breastmilk and do some of the overnight feeds.
After the initial 3 months, the family do plan to travel, usually to Europe, and would like their maternity nurse to accompany them.
A separate bedroom and bathroom as accommodation and 4 hours consecutive break per 24 hours are provided of course.
A guide salary of £300 per 24 hours has been discussed.
This is a lovely position for a responsive maternity nurse who understands how to facilitate and support breastfeeding, introducing routines and supporting sleep gently.

PLACED | Brussels | Bilingual Rota-Nanny – 10 Years Experience Minimum | Start as soon as possible
A friendly French-speaking family, well known to the Agency for many years, is looking for a bilingual English-French speaking rota-nanny to start in October/November and work alongside a second English-speaking rota-nanny who has been in place for eighteen month.
Please note that, as a consequence of Brexit, only EU passport holders or candidates who already have the right to work in the EU will be considered.
A friendly French-speaking family, well known to the Agency for many years, is looking for a bilingual English-French speaking rota-nanny to start in October/November and work alongside a second English-speaking rota-nanny who has been in place for eighteen month.
The current nanny highly recommends this family, which she describes as friendly, dynamic, very respectful of her work and never stressed.
This is an atypical job. The family is made up of three sisters, all married and each having had a child at short intervals. The two nannies are employed by the grandmother and work for the three sisters at the same time, looking after a 2 year old full time, and the other two aged 2 and 2.5 years from 1.30 p.m. on weekdays as they go to a local Montessori school. The nanny will take care of the 3 children at weekends but rarely all together as the young parents of the three children are very committed to their education.
The siblings get along extremely well and work within the family business.
A floor dedicated to the nursery has been set up at the grandmother's house. The eldest is dropped off at 8 a.m. at the family nursery. The two youngest children go to a bilingual school in the morning and are accompanied by their parents. They come home from school at 1:30 p.m. and take a two-hour nap, therefore from 1:30 p.m. the nanny has responsibility for the three children. The nanny will work from 8 a.m. to around 7:30 p.m.
The nanny will sometimes be asked to babysit. In this case, the child stays to sleep at night in a room near the nursery. Another bedroom is dedicated to the nanny.
A playroom is part of the nursery, in which children do painting, arts and crafts etc. It is therefore essential that the nanny has a creative mind and is very organized.
The nanny must be rigorous, have an artistic spirit, must enjoy going for walks, spending time in the garden where there is a play area and a sandbox, etc.
It is essential that the nanny is a good swimmer.
The family employs two housekeepers. No bedrooms or clothing maintenance is required from the nanny who will only be responsible for the maintenance of the nursery.
The nanny will have to prepare meals for the children while they take a nap.
The three families, as well as the grandparents, meet in their large family home in the south of Belgium at weekends. The nanny being on duty 24/7 will accompany them.
In the summer, the family goes to the South of France for two months following the same principle of rota. They have a large property there.
The family also spends two weeks a year in Marbella.
When she is not working or if she is not needed, the nanny will be in an apartment made available to her and consisting of two bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, the bills of which will be paid by the family.
The job will be worked 24 hours a day, two weeks on/two weeks off. Christmas is always free .
The family has two dogs, a Labrador and a smaller dog, which are not the nanny's responsibility.
The salary is €5,250 net / €350 per day.
