French-Speaking Nanny | New York | September 2025
A French-American family based in New York is seeking an experienced, professional, French-speaking nanny to care for their two young daughters. The eldest, an 11-year-old, attends the French High School of New York, located close to the family’s home. The youngest, born in 2023, will be 20 months old at the time the position begins.
Please note that the nanny must hold a Green Card or a US passport (no other applications will be considered).
One parent works for a French luxury leather goods brand, while the other works in banking.
The family is looking for a full-time nanny to provide care for their eldest daughter after school and to care for the younger child throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
Care for both children Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (53 hours per week).
The nanny will primarily care for the younger child during the day and assist with the older child’s afternoon schedule.
After school, the nanny will accompany the eldest to her extracurricular activities, while also caring for the younger daughter.
The nanny will occasionally be responsible for school drop-offs for the older child in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Organize age-appropriate activities for both children, fostering early development.
Assist the eldest with French homework.
Prepare meals for the children and manage their laundry.
Ensure that the children's living areas are kept clean and organized.
Qualifications:
Must be fluent in French and have a good level of English to manage day-to-day tasks.
Previous experience as a nanny or in a similar caregiving role is required.
Must hold a Green Card or a US passport (no other applications will be considered).
Additional Details:
Start Date: August 2025 or the beginning of the 2025 school year.
Salary: $100,000 per year (approximately €92,000).
Accommodation: The family provides a rental apartment for the nanny.
Holidays: The nanny will be required to take holidays at the same time as the family, typically six weeks per year. Two weeks of paid holidays are included as per US law.
Travel: One round-trip ticket per year to her home country will be provided to the nanny.
Health Insurance: The nanny will need to purchase her own private health insurance.
Transportation: The family will cover the cost of the nanny's transportation card.
Phone: The family will cover the cost of a professional phone. The nanny will only use her personal phone outside of her usual working hours or when the youngest is napping.
Housekeeping: A housekeeper is employed to handle general household duties; the nanny will only be responsible for the children’s laundry.
