We are seeking a highly experienced, professional, and nurturing nanny/governess to join a warm and welcoming single father household in Nicosia, North Cyprus. The role is to support the education and overall development of three school-aged children: a girl aged 8 and twin boys aged 6.
The children were all born via surrogacy. They attend an English-speaking school and are fluent in both English and Turkish. While three live-in au pairs are currently in place to support daily care, the family is looking to bring in an educationally focused nanny/governess to guide the children’s learning, provide structure, and help them reach their full potential.
The father, a successful businessman and hands-on parent, is deeply involved in his children’s lives and values trust, warmth, and professionalism in his home environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide engaging and age-appropriate educational support to all three children.
· Assist with homework, project work, and reading.
· Encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence through structured activities.
· Liaise with the children’s teachers where appropriate to support school goals.
· Plan and lead educational outings or indoor learning opportunities.
· Promote good manners, organisation, and independence.
· Collaborate with the existing au pair team to maintain a harmonious routine.
· Wardrobe management and toy rotation, no additional nursery duties are required as there are staff at home to attend to the children's laundry and cooking meals.
Ideal Candidate
· Degree-educated (ideally in Education, Child Development, or similar).
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar nanny/governess role.
· Confident supporting children aged 6–8 years with academics.
· Fluent in English (Turkish is a bonus but not essential).
· Calm, proactive, and highly organised.
· Be able to swim as there is a swimming pool in the grounds.
· Able to work independently but comfortable in a busy household setting.
· A driver is not needed for school runs but it could be useful to be a driver in the family's base country.
Working Hours
· 8 hours per day, ensuring good cover of the after-school period and the period up until the children go to bed. A typical school day will involve preparation time for the children's after school studies or activities during their school hours, an afternoon activity, homework completion, sitting together to eat dinner, reading and preparing for bed.
· In the holidays and at weekends the full 8 hours will be spent with the children, 6 days per week.
· School hours: 07:30–16:00.
· One day off per week is offered on a weekday.
· The family only travel once or twice per year for around 1 week at a time and would like the nanny/governess to accompany them on these trips.
Conditions
· This is a live-in role, and the successful candidate will have their own private bedroom and bathroom within the family’s spacious home.
· A competitive salary of up to £1,500 net per week is being offered to the successful candidate, dependent on experience and qualifications.
· The successful candidate will be employed in Cyprus.
· The family will ensure the successful candidate has appropriate health insurance and a return flight home once per year is provided.
