A British family who has lived in the US and who had just relocated to Florence, Italy, are looking for a French/English/Italian-speaking rota-nanny to look after their 4,5-year-old little boy.
The family is very relaxed and are looking for a nanny who will understand their space and their way of life. Both parents are very committed to their nanny’s happiness.
The parents describe their son as a very affectionate little boy, very calm and an amazing sleeper. He is a lovely boy who loves to play and is a real pleasure to be around. He likes to swim, spending time outside the house, loves puddles, tractors and storytelling. He has a great imagination and already has strong vocabulary skills.
The little boy is attending the French lycée of Florence. He was in a French school in Los Angeles as well. He is not bilingual yet, but learning French is a priority for the family. He is learning Italian and is picking up quickly.
Even though the parents have some knowledge of French, English is spoken at home. Therefore, the nanny will have to be confident speaking English to the parents but only French to the little one .It is equally important to have a good knowledge of Italian in order to communicate with the staff.
The right candidate will be professional, experienced, caring, highly organised, meticulous, a great team player, and a wonderful nanny.
The family are looking for someone with a nice and positive energy, a great reader of stories, very mature and focussed on their son’s education. Someone playful, who understand his needs, giving a traditional and kind education with boundaries.

The nanny will be working on a 24/7 basis, 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.
The daily routine is as follows: the little boy wakes up at 6:45am and has breakfast, he then goes to school with the nanny or with his mother at 7:30am.
The nanny is back from school at 9am and will have to organise activities, laundry, tidy the bedroom, the books, put the clothes in the wardrobe etc.
At 2:45pm the nanny leaves the house to get the little boy from school. They then return home.
The dinner is cooked by a chef and is served between 5:15/5:30pm (during winter) and then it’s bath time, around 6pm/6:30pm.
The nanny will then be reading to the little boy until he goes to bed at 7:15/7:30pm.
During the weekend the family goes to many activities with the little boy and the nanny will be accompanying the family.
The nanny will only be responsible for nursery duties such as tidying up the bedroom and the wardrobe, making sure that nothing in missing, buying clothes for the little boy.
A chef and a housekeeper are employed; no cooking or cleaning is required.
Accommodation:
The nanny will be provided with her own bedroom/bathroom/ kitchenette in the family home. Her space is on the first floor.
The parental bedroom and their son’s bedroom are on the second floor.
Holidays:
While on holidays, the family travel to England, Greece where they have a boat, to Switzerland where they go skiing. The nanny will have to be a good swimmer but not necessarily a skier.

It is important for the nanny to be an English speaker and to be bilingual in French. She needs at least to have a good foundation of French and to be able to help the little girls learn the English language, by doing translations and helping them with homework in both languages.
The little girls presently have a French nanny and are improving their English by currently doing one hour of English per day in an English activity club.
The nanny will be responsible for the well-being of the children, their awakening and will therefore ensure their safety and put in place activities adapted to their ages. She will also supervise park, bath and meal times.
She will be responsible for their educational learning and learning English.
The nanny's schedule in Paris will be from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: tidying up the little girls' rooms, their clothes, their toys, etc., picking them up from school at 4:30 p.m. then accompanying them to their activities and/or at home to do homework or play house. She will then be responsible for putting them in their pyjamas and feeding them if necessary.
On Wednesday the nanny will be responsible for the children throughout the day, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
If the children become ill, the nanny will have to look after them. She will be paid for additional on-call hours.
During school holidays, the nanny will work full time and accompany the family to Normandy or Méribel. The family usually spends the school holidays in their second home in Normandy (All Saints' Day, Christmas, Easter, July and August). Both parties will reach an agreement in advance for the nanny's vacation.
Night hours on call in Normandy will be paid approximately half of the hours worked during the day.
During the holidays in Normandy, weekends will be free. If the nanny does not wish to stay there during the weekend, return transport to Paris will be offered.
The family is looking for someone friendly, jovial, intelligent, who has common sense and who should not be told what to do, someone who has a heart, who knows how to be strict when necessary and who maintains good family relations with his employers.
The nanny is entitled to 5 weeks of paid leave per year. Ideally, the nanny will take one week at Christmas and 4 weeks in August.
In addition, public holidays worked will be paid.

PLACED | New York & Travels | French-speaking Nanny | February 2024
A family of French-American dads are looking for a French-speaking nanny to join them in New York and help them take care of their two little girls. One is 9 years old and the youngest will be born in December 2023.
It is imperative that the nanny be French-speaking, have a Green Card or an American passport.
The nanny will have self-employed status governed by French law.
A family of French-American dads are looking for a French-speaking nanny to join them in New York and help them take care of their two little girls. One is 9 years old and the youngest will be born in December 2023.
One of the dads works for a French leather goods brand and the other dad works in the banking sector.
A nanny had been employed by the family for many years and since then a young au pair has taken care of the school runs of the eldest, who attends the French high school in New York, a high school which is close to the family home. The family are looking for an experienced and professional full-time nanny to now care for the eldest after school and the unborn baby throughout the day.
The nanny must be French-speaking and have a decent level of English to be able to get by in everyday life.
The family are looking for a nanny for the month of January, February or March 2024. Both dads will be on parental leave for 4 months. The start date of employment is therefore flexible and the important thing will be to find the ideal candidate.
The nanny will be responsible for the children from Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., or 53 hours per week. There will very rarely be babysitting because at least one of the parents is back home by 5:45 p.m./6 p.m.
The nanny will be responsible for the eldest child's school runs to and from school in the morning and afternoon. She will then accompany her to her extracurricular activities, while keeping the baby with her. Generally one of the dads drops the eldest off at the French high school in the morning and the nanny will therefore be asked to do so only in the event of an unforeseen event.
The nanny will be responsible for keeping the children awake and, with the parents' agreement, for setting up fun and varied activities, adapted to their ages, will help the eldest with her homework, and will be responsible for preparing their meals, taking care of their laundry and keeping their living spaces clean and tidy.
The nanny will have a bedroom in the family home in New York and will have a very private space. The family are also planning to rent a studio for the nanny.
The nanny must not accompany the family on vacation and must take her vacation at the same time as the family. The family generally spends 6 weeks a year outside New York. The nanny will be entitled to 6 weeks of paid leave at a minimum, or even more.
One return ticket per year to Paris will be covered by the family. Health insurance coverage is also covered by the family.
A housekeeper takes care of the home and the nanny will not be asked to carry out household chores other than washing the children's laundry.

The nanny will be primarily English or French speaking, bilingual French/English. The nanny must only communicate in English with the entire family, including both parents. The children are not bilingual French/English but have basic knowledge. The family wants learning English to become part of their daily lives.
As parents both have very demanding jobs, the flexibility and availability of the nanny will also be essential.
Although the children are at school and independent, they, like all children, need to be accompanied, supported and encouraged by their nanny, both for homework and extra-curricular activities.
The nanny will be responsible for all the children's needs. This includes: setting up various and fun activities, organizing their daily life (making appointments, run errands relating to their needs, etc.), tidying up their clothes as well as their living spaces, preparing their meals as well as those of the family in the evening (simple cooking), taking care of their homework, activities.
One cook takes care of preparing a few dishes at the start of the week.
In the morning, either a parent or the nanny will accompany the children to school. The nanny will return home and take care of tidying up their bedrooms, clothes, books, will then pick up the children from school at 4:30 p.m. generally, and supervise the homework in French and English. Then follow dinner and tidy up and they go to bed at around 9 p.m.
The nanny is free during the day, apart from Wednesdays.
During school periods, the nanny will work an average of 50 hours per week as follows:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays worked from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Added to this is a 3-hour babysitting during the week, and depending on the family needs an additional 5-hour babysitting during the day or evening on Saturdays. One full free monthly weekend is offered but it’s likely that other weekends will be as well.
During school holiday periods, more flexibility will be requested from the nanny so that she is present during the day when the family is not going on vacation.
5 weeks of paid leave are due to the nanny.
A housekeeper is present at the home every day.
An independent and equipped 30m2 studio is made available to the nanny.
However, it is possible depending on the family's schedule and commitments that this could go beyond 5 weeks.

PLACED | Brussels | Bilingual Rota-Nanny – 10 Years Experience Minimum | Start as soon as possible
A friendly French-speaking family, well known to the Agency for many years, is looking for a bilingual English-French speaking rota-nanny to start in October/November and work alongside a second English-speaking rota-nanny who has been in place for eighteen month.
Please note that, as a consequence of Brexit, only EU passport holders or candidates who already have the right to work in the EU will be considered.
A friendly French-speaking family, well known to the Agency for many years, is looking for a bilingual English-French speaking rota-nanny to start in October/November and work alongside a second English-speaking rota-nanny who has been in place for eighteen month.
The current nanny highly recommends this family, which she describes as friendly, dynamic, very respectful of her work and never stressed.
This is an atypical job. The family is made up of three sisters, all married and each having had a child at short intervals. The two nannies are employed by the grandmother and work for the three sisters at the same time, looking after a 2 year old full time, and the other two aged 2 and 2.5 years from 1.30 p.m. on weekdays as they go to a local Montessori school. The nanny will take care of the 3 children at weekends but rarely all together as the young parents of the three children are very committed to their education.
The siblings get along extremely well and work within the family business.
A floor dedicated to the nursery has been set up at the grandmother's house. The eldest is dropped off at 8 a.m. at the family nursery. The two youngest children go to a bilingual school in the morning and are accompanied by their parents. They come home from school at 1:30 p.m. and take a two-hour nap, therefore from 1:30 p.m. the nanny has responsibility for the three children. The nanny will work from 8 a.m. to around 7:30 p.m.
The nanny will sometimes be asked to babysit. In this case, the child stays to sleep at night in a room near the nursery. Another bedroom is dedicated to the nanny.
A playroom is part of the nursery, in which children do painting, arts and crafts etc. It is therefore essential that the nanny has a creative mind and is very organized.
The nanny must be rigorous, have an artistic spirit, must enjoy going for walks, spending time in the garden where there is a play area and a sandbox, etc.
It is essential that the nanny is a good swimmer.
The family employs two housekeepers. No bedrooms or clothing maintenance is required from the nanny who will only be responsible for the maintenance of the nursery.
The nanny will have to prepare meals for the children while they take a nap.
The three families, as well as the grandparents, meet in their large family home in the south of Belgium at weekends. The nanny being on duty 24/7 will accompany them.
In the summer, the family goes to the South of France for two months following the same principle of rota. They have a large property there.
The family also spends two weeks a year in Marbella.
When she is not working or if she is not needed, the nanny will be in an apartment made available to her and consisting of two bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, the bills of which will be paid by the family.
The job will be worked 24 hours a day, two weeks on/two weeks off. Christmas is always free .
The family has two dogs, a Labrador and a smaller dog, which are not the nanny's responsibility.
The salary is €5,250 net / €350 per day.

Ideally, the nanny will start at the end of August 2023, early September 2023.

During school holidays the nanny will be working 5 days a week, from 8:45am to 7:15pm.
Some flexibility is required from the nanny regarding the exact hours because the parents have not confirmed the activities for the year yet. The children’s grandmother is likely to take one child often on Wednesdays.
The family would like the nanny to accompany them on holidays 2 weeks a year. A financial compensation will be granted to the nanny for the time spent away (€60 per night). The family is likely to take more holidays without the nanny but does not want to commit now as they have not planned anything yet.
The nanny will be offered 6 weeks holidays per year. One week will be taken over the Christmas period, three weeks will be taken during the children’s school holidays and the remaining two weeks will be floating and discussed between both parties.
