A new client of ours is searching for a qualified and experienced Governess/Governor to join him in shaping the education of his children. The family have 5 children aged 13, 10, 8, 6 and 3 years old, all children attend an international school around 25 minutes away.
This is a fully staffed household allowing the candidate to dedicate their working time to focussing on the children, their education and their schedules.
Start Date: Ideally April 2025 but flexible for the right person.
Working Hours: 9-10 hours per day, 5 days per week.
Duties: As a qualified and experienced Governess/Governor the chosen candidate will focus on the education and schedules of all of the children. They will plan and deliver lessons in mathematics, science, languages, literature, history, and other academic areas, based on the children’s age and curriculum requirements. Adapting their teaching methods to accommodate each child’s learning style, strengths, and challenges. Designing or selecting appropriate educational materials, resources, and textbooks to facilitate effective learning. Assigning and reviewing homework, projects, and assignments to reinforce and assess the children’s understanding of the subjects. Teaching practical life skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organisational skills to help children succeed academically and personally. Introducing children to arts, culture, music, literature, and social etiquette to promote well-rounded development. Instilling positive values, ethics, manners, and social responsibility in children’s behaviour and interactions. Organising and supervising extracurricular activities, such as sports, arts, music, and hobbies, to encourage a diverse range of interests. Assessing and tracking children’s academic progress, strengths, and areas for improvement, and providing regular updates to parents.
Travel: The family would like the candidate to travel with them and organise fun, educational activities whilst away.
Accommodation: A separate bedroom and bathroom within the family home is provided for the Governess/Governor's use.
Salary: £6,000 tax free per month + dependent on the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
